STATEMENT

My work transforms fragments of lived experience into exuberant constructions where memory, desire, vulnerability, community, and pleasure converge. Moving between media, I create assemblages that preserve fleeting, deeply-felt encounters.

Devotional traditions and gay dance culture inform my work through their rituals, communal spaces, sensory experiences, and moments of transcendence. Using photographs from my life, I layer and camouflage images beneath paint, beads, glitter, and other reflective materials, exploring how memories remain present without being fully accessible.

Glittering garlands act as connective tissue, suggesting party decorations, vines, topography, stained glass, and networks between bodies. Their shimmer evokes holy ornamentation and the temporary spectacle of nightlife.

Underlying this abundance is an awareness of impermanence. In these bedazzled archives, pleasure becomes an act of attention, memory takes on sacred meaning, desire draws us toward one another, vulnerability opens us to connection, and joy is held and preserved.
